This is the third book in the Bunnicula series. The first three books are compiled in one audio collection & separate books as well. They all have the same reader, Victor Garber, who played Mr. Andrews in the movie Titanic.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
We are once again at the home of The Monroe family in Centerville. Chester the cat, Harold the dog, Bunnicula the rabbit, & the newest member of the family Howie the Dachshund. There is also Toby & Pete along with Mr & Mrs. Monroe.
After their return from Howliday Inn Chester is more convinced than ever that Bunnicula is a real vampire. Not only that but because of his strange diet & the mysterious white vegetables from before, Chester thinks that Bunnicula has made the vegetables into his zombies vampire minions by draining them. Therefore the trio of Chester, Harold, & Howie go out into the neighborhood in search of some minion onions & blood thirsty beets. They run into Max, the bulldog from Howliday Inn along they way & he points them in the right direction. Indeed they do find more drained, white vegetables in gardens around town. In order to kill the followers of Bunnicula they must stake them with toothpicks before it's too late.
But what would happen if Bunnicula bit a person or someone ate one of the vampire veggies...would they become a vampire too? It's possible that Toby & Pete are vampires already as evidence by their strange behavior & capes they are wearing! Chester & Harold must save them & Mr. & Mrs. Monroe before it's too late...
Likes: As usual this book was hilarious!
I picked up the actual book too & to my surprise there is pictures! Chester staking a carrot with a toothpick is priceless.
Sticking with traditional vampire themes like biting people (or in this case vegetables) to make them vampires but giving it a twist is a great addition to the book.
Dislikes: My library doesn't have books 4-5-6 on audio so I'm going to have to read the books from now on until book #7, we do have that one. But that means I'll get to see the pictures so I'm not 100% disappointed
