This is the story of the Monroe family & their new pet, a vampire bunny rabbit.

The story is told from the dog's point of view, his name is Harold. They also have a cat named Chester, & 2 boys named Toby & Pete. The boys find Bunnicula at the movies when their family goes to watch Dracula one stormy night. They think the name is appropriate despite their mother wanting to name him Fluffy.

It isn't long before Chester starts to notice Bunnicula's weird behavior. Chester being the smart cat that he is, has read a book called The Mark of the Vampire & is convinced that because Bunnicula sneaks out of his cage every night, drains all the juice from vegetables, sleeps during the day, & doesn't like garlic that he is for sure a vampire.

Harold helps Chester in his attempts to convince the family of what Bunnicula really is, but eventually he feels bad for the poor little bunny. In the end it's a happy ending for everyone!

Likes: This book was hilarious! I listened to it on audio & it was short, only 2 disc & about an hour & a half which was perfect for my quick little trip. The dialogue between Harold & Chester was great & Chester being able to read was funny.

The family is oblivious to Bunnicula being a strange rabbit despite Chester doing some very weird & funny things to try & convince them.

I didn't know when I listened to it that it was a series but now I can't wait to read the others! It's a bonus that they are so short, I think they will go quickly.
