I originally tried to read this in book form but it was too hard to follow between all the different letters & characters. So I tried the audiobook & it was fabulous. The different readers really make the story come to life. It was easy to follow in the audio version. Overall the story was really good. It was a little bit sad to hear about the war & the things that happened. It's also a little scary to realize that it's based on true events. I'm using the book for my book challenge list as my book that is about WWII.

After I read the book I watched the movie on Netflix. I kinda wish I had watched the movie first because it was NOTHING like the book. The characters in the movie were younger than I pictured from the book. The cast of the movie was good but only about 5 of the original characters were included. The story line of the movie & the storyline of the book were very different. In the book Juliet becomes friendly with the group before going to Guernsey, this process takes place over the course of months. Then she goes to visit the island & ultimately stays there with Dawsey & Kit. The ending is the same in the book & the movie at least. The way Juliet is treated in the movie is completely different from the relationships that form in the book. Long story short...do NOT let the movie influence your decision on the book.

At the end of it all I would recommend the audiobook highly but not the movie so much.
