This is book #1 in the Welcome to Wonderland series. I picked it up because I'm working my way through Chris Grabenstein's books. I had the audio version & the book. The reader is different from the Lemoncello series but he was still pretty good. I listened to the book on the way back from my brother's wedding this last weekend. It was the perfect length for the drive. However I was disappointed to find out that my library only has this first book & none of the others! I'm gonna have to work on fixing that.

Our story takes place in Florida at the Wonderland Motel through the eyes of 12 year old Phineas Taylor Wilkie (P.T. for short). His grandfather owns the motel that was originally called Walt Wilkie's Wonderland back in 1970. Unfortunately another famous Walt opened a wonderland of his own in Florida & stole the thunder from the Wilkie's. But because of that this isn't your average motel. This motel has amazing attractions like Dino the Dinosaur, The Wonderland Express, Freddy the Frog, Smiling Sam, & Pirate Pete's Putt Putt course. But all that family fun isn't enough to keep the place open. P.T. , his grandpa, & his mom have to come up with $100,000 by the end of the month to keep the motel from being bulldozed by collectors. How will they ever come up with that much in time?
P.T. makes friends with a girl who is living in the motel with her dad who is a traveling sports news anchor. Together P.T. & Gloria Ortega come up with an idea to keep the motel open. They start offering "shows" with Freddy the Frog, snacks, & souvenirs. From there they offer a pirate treasure hunt on the putt putt course. Their growing fame lands them on TV with Gloria's dad. The next day 2 mysterious guys show up & claim to be brothers. But they are really jewel thieves who just got out of prion & they are looking for their long lost loot that could be at the Wonderland! The jewels could be the key to saving the motel but only if Gloria & P.T. can find them first.

Likes: This book was so fun! The characters, the setting, & the story all come together to create a hilarious page turning adventure.
It was short, much like the Lemoncello books, around 300 pages & 5ish hours on audio.
The book version had pictures which were pretty entertaining.
I'm interested to see where the story goes from here in the next few books. There is 2 books out right now, maybe more coming???

In this final installment of the trilogy featuring the wacky Mr. Lemoncello & his amazing library the newly formed board of advisors get their chance to win big in the new game thought up by entertainment tycoon Luigi Lemoncello. This game is a little different from most of his others, it doesn't need a board but a plane or a train might do the trick.
The kids on the library board have to pair up & solve questions within the Alexandriaville, OH public library. Only 5 teams, 10 kids total, will get their shot to be in the race for the grand prize after the initial elimination round. The winning team will travel around the country & help Mr. Lemoncello promote his new Nonfictionator & his Fantabulous Floating Emoji game.
Of course our main character Kyle Keeley is included in the final pairs. The kids battle each other traveling to different location all over the country. They must answer questions about Michael Jordan, Thomas Edison, the Wright Brothers, & Emily Dickinson throughout the two rounds. But along the way they run into trouble.
Mr. Lemoncello is being accused of stealing the idea for his first game that made him a bazillionaire. He's also dealing with someone stealing the plans to his new hit game right out from under his nose. Could it be the rival game makers the Krinkle brothers from Kansas City? Or could it be someone from his very own library board?
Kyle along with the help of some fellow board members ditch the Fabulous Fact-Finding Frenzy race in order to solve the mystery & make things right for Mr. Lemoncello before it's too late! They'll have to ride in the banana jet, visit Mr. Lemoncello's Imagination Factory, & climb through tunnels inside the library to find the answer. But if there's no race does that also mean there's no winner?

Likes: As always I really enjoyed this book because of all the books & library stuff, it's the best part !!!
This book had all the wacky & crazy fun that all the others do but also had a little bit more serious side to the story.
The audio reader was the same! I hate when they change between books, this series has the same reader for all 3 books.
The Nonfictionator was really cool! It allows people to come to life in holographic form so we get to see Michael Jordan, Abe Lincoln, & a few others. We also learn some cool & obscure facts along the way. I wish it was a real thing!!!
As always this book shows a classic JUV story line, good conquering evil, everyone being friends, etc.
Dislikes: The only dislike I have is that I want there to be more books in this series!

This month I'm gonna try to not be overly ambitious. I returned a bunch of my library books & I'm gonna try & not check out to many more. It's gonna still be busy at my library & my brother is getting married so I might be listening to some audio books while I drive all over the place.
